what's the difference between the mayan and the aztec calendars?

OK you win, no one knows, except possibly you? The Aztecs were around Mexico City and the Maya empire chiefly in Yucutan, could extend to Guatemala.

A "height controller" made sure they were not bigger than the Spanish and other types of Conquistadores, but they were quite magnificent, according to the Landa codex.

They may have exaggerated the picture but it shows Father Landa depicted as a priestly figure that was at least 7'tall, and the scribes whose MSS he censored were even bigger.

for starters, their languages are completely different and come from different language families.
