Do you take off your helmet before or after you get off the vehicle?

I do it both ways but the proper way is to take it off after you get off the bike to avoid knocking it off the bike that you just sat it down on or dropping it while you get off the bike.

Neither, I live in a state that has no mandatory helmet law, and I don't wear a helmet. When I first started riding, many years ago, I wore a helmet for the first year or so and recall putting it on before I got on and taking it off after I got off.

Since I ride on the back, I get off the bike first and then take my helmet off. But my boyfriend takes his off before he gets off the bike. So to each, his own.

I take my helmet off after I get off and put it on before I get on.

Usually after, but there have been exceptions naturally.

If you are unfamiliar with your bike, it might be wise to be all helmetted up before getting on. That way there are no distractions for you while getting ready to ride.

I take mine off after I get off because you never know when a kickstand is not securely in place, someone could bump you while your're still on it....and you could still fall off and hurt yourself....also I put my helmet on before I get on my bike for the same reasons.

Generally after I get off the bike, but I don't think it makes much of a difference. Definitely after the bike is off and never before.

A month ago , I took the MSF course, they teach you, never sit on bike, without your gear on. You could lose your balance and fall, even if you are not moving. I live in Pa., (no helmet law), but I always wear mine.

After. I get off, take my gloves off and drop them on the seat. Then I have enough dexterity to unstrap the helmet, and place it on the seat too.

I don't have to worry about it because I live in a free state with no helmet law.
