im looking for a boat around 20 feet that is really really good riding and really really dry either a walkaround or bowirder and outboard what are your reconmmendations? besides a hydra sports and gradys

First there no such boat as Dry unless it fully enclosed>?And 20' is small an will pound even with a deep V >So Head to the marines and test ride them till you find 1 that you like>I have had almost every configuration of boat out there > Have a 48' sport fish an it's dry unless 20 knots wind an 6'+ seas>

the use of the boat determines the hull design. for ski get a ski boat like nautique. for all round use either a semiV or a cat hull. in a high speed turn the flatter the bottom the more it will skid sideways. deep V hulls are safest in rough water but tend to roll. for general purpose a semi-v mat suit you best. be sure to get enough horsepower. at least 150.

i got a 22 ft.hurricane deck boat this summer with a 135 o/b Honda motor, this is the best boat i have ever had,smooth ride plenty of room great boat.

On smooth water any boat will ride smooth, moderate waves I would want a tri-hull as they break the waves and give a smoother ride. There is no one particular boat manufacturer that is smoother than the other.
