It really depends on the situation. I was induced at 38 weeks, everything was going normal and suddenly after 12 hours of labor my baby's fetal heart dropped. I was taken for emergency c-section. So I had gone through both, the pains of induction ( oh they are very very painful and sudden and contractions are like hell) and also the pain after c-section. But alas, no one of it could survive my baby.

I would rather say its the health of the baby that is important. But yes, if you are induced for some high risk like blood pressure or any other complication, I would rather avoid it. Your child can go into fetal destress. Its always good to have C-section than bear pains of induction, in my opinion. However, others might differ.

C-section healing takes only i week frankly and now that I am again pregnant I am actually scared of being induced. My doctor has advised me to go in for Elective C-section at 38-39 weeks becuase of risk of pre-eclampsion and my medical history. It differs from person to person and pregnancy to pregnancy. Good luck. Whatever you want to go in for, just discuss the pros and cons with your doctor at length.

I wouldn't recommend either unless its absoloutely necessary! Being induced w/ pitocin can make for a very tiring labor depending on how its done...(for example, if they just give a large dose to kick things off it will be rough since you'll just be thrown into some hard contractions, as oppossed to a smaller dose and working up gradually)...C-Section is a major surgery and takes a long time to recover! Unless there is a medical reason to get the baby out ASAP, I would just wait it out and try to let things happen naturally...if your doc tries to induce before your body is ready you'll be at risk for a C-Section anyway! Some things you can do to help prepare your body for labor are having sex, the hormones in semen are similar to those in the meds they give to induce you...it will help soften the cervix to prepare it for dialation...sitting on a birth ball is a big help, its comfy and helps get baby down in position! Hope that helps! Best of luck to you!

You should try being induced before you opt for a c-section

It is far easier for your body to recuperate after a natural delivery - c-sections are surgery

Being induced is slightly more painful than natural labor (the pitocin brings on harder contractions and faster) but it is not nearly as bad as having surgery.

Afterwards you will have a much easier time getting up and getting around and moving and lifting your baby if you go naturally.

Hope this helps. good luck.

inducement if the cervex is favorable, otherwise it will end up in c-section anyway. But choice is to wait it out untul you go into labor naturally, unless there is a definite medical reason to induce.

It depends on the circumstances, really. Especially the weight of the baby!
