It's all borrowed money, I'm sure our grandkids won't mind - we are protecting them from terror (while lining our pockets with future cash)

I hope the next president launches an investigation into where all the money went. Is it treasonous for American companies to profiteer on US war efforts?

It should be.

1. China is a powerful, nuclear-armed country with a huge military.

2. China has controlled Tibet since the 1950's.

3. Tibet, due to resettlement, is majority Han Chinese. The Tibetan ethnic group are minorities in their own homeland.

Basically, this question is asking "If the US went into Iraq to oppose tyranny/spread democracy/etc., why only do it in Iraq?"

The answer is that the US DIDN'T go into Iraq to oppose tyranny or spread democracy. We (the US) went into Iraq because the Bush administration was run by a coalition of neocons and defense officials who wanted to try out a new model of fast, efficient 'light footprint' warfare. They failed.

But I think we all know this by now. So I'm not sure what the point of this question really is. It was a lot fresher back in 2003.

If it will guarantee a win then we should. The money we are spending in Iraq is a drop in the bucket compared to what the illiberals want to spend on a horrible health care system and preventing summer.

People who think fighting in Iraq is going to secure us from terrorism are the same ones who say we have found WMDs in Iraq, who claim global warming is a farce, and who believe having tax cuts while radically increasing public spending (namely on military expenditures and corporate subsidies) is a good thing for the economy. I hope your kind never rules this country again.

Sure beats spending that same $4 trillion on socialized health care! On the bright side, with universal health care, I wouldn't live long enough to see the gloom in my grandchildren's eyes.

Same could be said for any expenditure in government. Someone always gets paid for their work.
It's always for a good cause (in someone's mind or in reality).

That's why we vote. That's why we can legislate as private individuals. That's why we speak up.

You have your chance in 2008. So do we all.

Might as well. Neo-cons only lookout for themselves and couldn't care less about the consequences others have to pay for the neo-con's decisions.
