The man's always had great tactical insight. And unlike other managers of big clubs, who usually buy the already-established players for hefty prices, (30 m for Shevchenko? Ridiculous!) Wenger moulds the young guns (Called 'Gunners', right?).
Young players always love it when they land a big club which has faith in their skill. If a young guy was headed to Anfield, Old Trafford or Stamford Bridge, he'd either warm the bench or be loaned out till he's 'old enough'. When a team shows faith in a young player, it boosts his morale and he naturally performs better. I'd say that Fabregas, Van Persie and Eduardo are more precious than Ballack and Shevchenko! And to think that the price Mourinho paid was nearly 11 times more than that Wenger spent on these young talents, not to mention Chelsea's loss of the Premiership and the Champions' League.
I've always admired Arsene for this. No other league can boast that their second youngest club is one of the best, and is currently top of the league on points. You've got to hand it to Arsene, he can not only spot young talent like no one else, he can tap their potential like no one else. Arsene never paid senseless prices for players either. That is the difference between Arsene Wenger and Martin Jol.
Arsene buys players for the price of dirt and makes them good enough to be sold for the price of gold (Doesn't sell 'em that often either). He keeps the players in mind always. All get equal exposure. That way, Henry's sale is actually a good thing. Earlier, Henry was the star. Now, the whole team as a unit is the star. People who said Henry was the only thing that kept Arsenal going are soon going to be very disappointed. Arsenal will definitely finish higher this season than the last.
Young talent at its best always makes for games that are easy on the eye, that is to say, entertaining. I am sure Arsenal will strike trophy gold this season. Good luck to you, Professor Wenger!

haha it jus proves the fact that everybody chooses to ignore, that wenger is THE BEST when it comes to transfers, and that's not even including how he turned arsenal into a title-chasing side, and all-out-attack and so on.
vieira was bought for 2 million
henry was bought for 9 million
fabregas was bought for free
toure was bought for 1 million
v.persie was bought for 2.5 million
man, if wenger ever spends 30 million on a player u can really be very scared!

i'd be worried for the gunners if it can't beat a side like pompey week in week out, and i mean this without any disrespect to pompey.
in order to be the best, you have to perform at the very best no less. what matters most is how the table will end after the season. there's no point gloating about finishing on top now when you can't do it by season's end.
the race is not for the swift. remember that.

He's been on a shoe string compare to the other top 3 teams in the league.. spending only 30 million and getting the players he has to play like they have is a compliment to his 'eye for players'.
I'm a liverpool fan but the only team i enjoy watching is arsenal because they play football that is easy on the eye, and which is entertaining.

Incredible, but all the extra money he has kept aside, has gone into creating the world's largest private collection of vintage wines.
He apparently has Champagnes dating back to 1896 and a case of magnums of the first vintage from when Mouton Rotschild was upgraded from a 2eme cru to a premier cru (1973)

when arsenal are on form they can beet anyone but so can most premiership side (chelsea on sunday) arsenal have had a good start to the season but i'm still reluctant to believe he's spent well. eduardo hasnt performed his best yet and its his past players playing good, from clichy to van persie and of course not forgeting cesc fabragas. lets just hope the trophy stays put, at the theatre of dreams. cherrybaps

It says that Wenger prefers to raid other clubs top young up-and-coming players as he can get them for peanuts, and that he often falsely gets credited for finding and nurturing them when these players had already been brought through other clubs youth academies all along.
