Since the moon's orbit is elliptical (oval-shaped), its distance varies from about 221,463 miles (356,334 kilometers) at perigee (closest approach to Earth) to 251,968 miles (405,503 kilometers) at apogee (farthest point). The average distance from the moon to the Earth is 238,857 miles (384,392 kilometers).

The Moon is roughly 240,000 Miles from the Earth. That is easily related as being a bit more than ten times around the equator of the
Earth.

The average centre-to-centre distance from the Earth to the Moon is 384,403 kilometres (238,857 mi), which is about 30 times the diameter of the Earth. The Moon has a diameter of 3,474 kilometres (2,159 mi) slightly more than a quarter that of the Earth

Well, if you wanted to reach out and touch the Moon, your arms would have to be 376,000 km long.
Whereas if you just wanted to do is give the world a big hug, then you'd only need arms 20,000 km long. In other words, the moon is about 30 times as far away as the Earth is wide.
Most people's arms are less than one meter in length. Which is just as well, you'd look pretty silly with arms that long.

i think of of it as a pair of quarter million miles away. Wikipedia says 384,399 km. the gap isn't consistent. there is plenty to acknowledge approximately it. possibly you may acknowledge how a ways the Moon is from the Earth suited now. An astronautical almanac can grant you the formulation. some planetarium utility can compute the respond for you at your whim.
