I am confused about something. Working hard gets you places in life, am I not right? But half the time, someone half as dedicated as you wins the prize. I know, life's not fair. That's okay. So then, are people who are relaxed and unworried, less than mediocre, actually happier? They seem to be free, to discover and work with what gifts they've been given, and then you see people faced with the walls of their cubicles at the start of each new day. And so here is the question I want most to be answered........Being smart can come from working hard and is also just natural for some people, so if you work hard enough, can you be as much an impact as someone who is partially genius?

It's a complicated question. First, Thomas Edison said that genius was 99 percent perspiration. So he certainly believed in hard work. But he was no dummy either.

I think that hard work is necessary but not always sufficient for success while high intelligence alone will probably never allow one to achieve very highly. Think of the savants who can add, subtract, and memorize lots of facts.

An ordinary person who works hard and invests can be a millionaire. The beauty of a literate society, especially considering the internet, is that you can benefit from what smart people have written.

So, if you were willing to work hard, you could also benefit yourself by reading as much as you can read. Success material, psychology, money management.

And if your hard work brought you success, you could use your resources to make an impact on the world. So many colleges and university professors are paid to do research by grants from hard working people.

Finally, if you want to be truly happy while working very hard, then the key is to figure out how to make money doing what you love! You will work very hard and be very happy.

Well why do YOU work hard? If you do not want to work hard then it is fine. You do no harm to this world.

I believe in asking this question you do have a goal, a dream which want to fulfill. It is the nature of human to work towards a goal and learn something from the experiences. From there you shall value living more than a person who had a mundane life, not knowing anything because they haven't experiences.

But then, observe around you. There are people that can live in a state of ignorance. Therefore it brought me a conclusion that certain people have certain purpose to exist.

Being smart is a gift, and person who are bestowed upon this gift should use it the best. If a normal person work hard can be smart, imagine what a smart person can be if he or she work hard? In fact, smart people do work hard and they produce fantastic results.

And there is a question of definition of genius, what you define as genius? As mentioned, people do have purpose of existence which further implied different person have different talent and ability. You see, you can't never ask Mozart to teach physics nor you should never ask Feynman to teach you philosophy. But Mozart and Feynman are genius in their own field.

I believe your question shall never ends, but will open up to new thoughts. My ideas shall not be reviewed the same by different people.

Until you recognize what it is they are doing differently, you will be trapped in the same pattern.

However, envying others isn't all its cracked up to be. What we see in others is only half the story. What we don't see is just as interesting.

Of course, if we keep our greed in check, how hard or how little we work for the "prize" really wouldn't matter. After you make the decision to work less, look back on this and remember that you chose this.

You have your own potential. Even if you work hard, you may not be able to achieve as much as someone else. That is irrelevant to whether not you want to work hard. The reason you want to work hard is to reach your potential and make the best life you can for yourself and your loved ones.
