But at least I'm not short on looks.

I am not short, I am just height impaired.

I'm not short, I'm just afraid of heights.

(You laugh with them using these self-mocking type of replies. (Not the first one) When they see it doesn't bother you, they usually find someone else to pick on.)

just ignore them.
Or tell them "thank you for telling me, I hadn't noticed."
Or "oh my goodness, what a revelation"
Or "shush, don't tell anybody"
I have the opposite "problem" I'm tall and people want to tell me about it. I use some of these and other remarks.
Don't let it bother you, just be yourself and know that there are a lot of stupid people in the world who think that they have to say something.

I am NOT short -- I am as tall as you are except for about 4 inches! What's YOUR excuse for not being as "down to earth" as I am?

:-) Go get 'em!

kind of reminds me when people tell me i am old. i just say: "Im not old, just been around a long time". Make you up something to say like that with humor and you will not lose any friends.
