It has been awhile now that I have been feeling this way. I just caught myself crying all the time lately. I've called in at work for two days last week because I don't think I can function good at work. My husband has been trying to cheer me up. My daughter keeps asking me what's wrong every time I cry. It hurt me more seeing both of them doing this to me. I can't just keep my feelings inside because I don't wanna blow up. Some comforting words everyone? I really need it . For those who's just gonna make some rude comments just please don't waste you time in this. Thanks.

Please check this website to see if you have these symptoms. You may need professional help. Take care of yourself if you love your family. Sometimes, where we live and the food we eat may affect our moods also. Do something you enjoy to soothe your worries.

What Are the Symptoms?
For major depression, you may experience five or more of the following for at least a two-week period:

Persistent sadness, pessimism.
Feelings of guilt, worthlessness, helplessness or hopelessness.
Loss of interest or pleasure in usual activities, including sex.
Difficulty concentrating and complaints of poor memory.
Worsening of coexisting chronic disease, such as rheumatoid arthritis or diabetes.
Insomnia or oversleeping.
Weight gain or loss.
Fatigue, lack of energy.
Anxiety, agitation, irritability.
Thoughts of suicide or death.
Slow speech; slow movements.
Headache, stomachache and digestive problems.

Diet and Depression
There's still more bad news about sugary foods. Larry Christensen, PhD, chairman of the department of psychology at the University of South Alabama, believes that eating sucrose-containing (sugar-containing) foods may actually cause depression in some people. In his studies, he eliminated sugar from the diets of depressed people and found that about 25% saw a significant improvement in mood.

"For some people, taking sugar out of the diet and adding it back in can turn their depression off and on like a faucet," says Christensen. "It can take a week or two weeks to have an effect, but most people will feel better in a week." It's not clear why sugar has such a profound effect on mood, but it may be linked to exhaustion. "Sugar boosts energy initially, but then it has the paradoxical effect of inducing fatigue," explains Christensen. "And if an individual is constantly fatigued, things are hard to do, and it's easy to become very pessimistic."
