I used to focus my life one the people in it. In time I have lost the people I care anything about. (i am 21) I have found that I am truly indifferent to death. I put myself in extremely dangerous situations and do not care. I have come extremely close to dieing more then once, and I do not care. I have no fear of death, only of injury and life. Do you think it is wrong to be indifferent to death? I am not suicidal, I just do not care about life.

Been there, still am. And probably for much the same reasons. I also joined the service right out of high school, I was injured and discharged. I became completely indifferent toward death. Perhaps it has something to do with the destruction of the image of our lives as we had planned. It makes what is left of them seem much less important. I'm only hypothesizing. I was 19, and I've lived the last 12 years in agonizing pain, with no hope of relief. Death really just holds nothing for me to fear. But I've also often thought that fear and hope are two sides of the same coin. You can't have one without the other. When you give up hope, there is nothing left to fear. But when you have hope for the future you also have fear that things might not happen as you plan. This is the result of the philosophical musings on my suffering. Take what wisdom from it you can.

There is something wrong in that picture, not caring about life can be as bad as being suicidal. Not fearing death by putting yourself in extremely dangerous situation and not caring whether u live or die, can be a subtle indication of being mildly suicidal. You might not be sad or melancholic but you are finding that your life lacks that motivation to go on. You should talk to someone about it, and you might find that yeah u are right , nothings wrong with you, but its still good to have some other opinion , i mean professional opinion, other than ours here.

I don't think it's wrong.....it's just a result of what you have been living through. There's nothing wrong with being indifferent but I advise you not to do such dangerous things again.....not only because of your life but because of all the pain (if something happens to you)you will cause to the others who love you......

actually it is a common sense thing to think......... there is nothing wrong with dieing ...... nothing to be afraid of...... but your time on earth is important and you don't want to just poo poo it and be reckless.... .. remember you are a spirit being having a human experience with your consent.... you agreed to live the life you are living..... it wont always be this way......... take it easy... you will be glad you did.
