It is a question worth pondering, no doubt.
I would have to say that the meaning of life relies on the said person who asks for its meaning. You are the creator of your future, thus you have made your past and present a reality. We go through life thinking we have made the right decisions only to find ourselves question the motives when we are old and grey.
I have come up with my own solution to that question but it is only for me. Every day I live my life the way I think it should be. I make my own decisions and am aware of the consequences for my actions. I feel that there is more to life than what I have been given, and I seek those answers out on my own terms. I go to bed knowing what I know and realizing that everything happens for a reason. The things I can change, I do ... the things I cannot, well, I try to change. In the end, it seeems that all we struggled for was not worth what we had previously thought.
We die knowing we had lived the way we were expected and thus, finally, knowing it could have been different. We have regrets, we have doubts, we have missed the true point of our life. We were afraid to know what we really wanted to know in the first place. We wanted security from which we did not or could not know but wanted to know.
All of these things build up for the duration of our life and we look back thinking that something should have happened.
Why? Because we never know the true purpose of life until it passes us by. We are too eager and ready to accept that life is what it is when it could have been something more.

Science must not and does not ascribe purpose. Natural processes such as evolution are mindless and cannot give us reasons for being here. So this answer is nonsense: "The answer(scientific perspective) is very simple: the purpose of life is to reproduce. It is reproduction that defines life, because when that process fails, life cannot persist." (tabla rasa)
Science can help answer "how" type questions but not "why" questions. The word, "purpose" requires a Creator.
"Unless you assume a God, the question of life’s purpose is meaningless.” –Bertrand Russell
Only our Creator could have created us and given us a mission (purpose) to accomplish. Inventing our own purpose is really just inventing things to do that make us feel good about ourselves.
Inventing our own "use-for-life" is really a matter for psychology but here are three general methods that we can use to forget about purpose and to feel good about ourselves: 1) Keep busy, busy, busy so we won't think such deep thoughts; 2) Keep focused on trivial happy events such as your morning cup of tea; 3) do some good deeds so you can get real and imagined praise which leads to an inflated ego.

To be happy and to make other people happy. I believe in the buddhist doctrine that everywhere there is suffering. But I differ in the solution to suffering. My solution is not to escape into some kind of Nirvana. Rather we should go about making people laugh, feel good about themselves, be entertained, and full of joy. You should find someone to love because the more love you give, the more happiness you get. People with dogs are much happier than loners. Give out free gifts the next time you go to the park. Help people carry their groceries. Also enjoy yourself and do things to make your life eventful and yourself special. Buy yourself something special from time to time. Take a really nice bath, go to a sauna, get a massage. Fulfill yourself with some meaningful work. Have goals to achieve because the best way to feel fulfilled is to accomplish goals that you can look back upon with satisfaction. Give yourself a higher purpose in life through achievable goals.

Since the meaning is 43, the purpose must be 44.

The answer(scientific perspective) is very simple: the purpose of life is to reproduce. It is reproduction that defines life, because when that process fails, life cannot persist.
“We are going to die, and that makes us the lucky ones. Most people are never going to die, because they are never going to be born. The number of people who could be here in my place outnumbers the sand grains of Sahara. If you think about all the different ways our genes could be permuted, you and I are quite grotesquely lucky to be here: the number of events that had to happen in order for you to exist, in order for me to exist. We are privileged to be alive and we should make the most of our time on this world.” –Richard Dawkins
In philosophy it is not simple. We must create our own purpose.

"The" purpose of life I have no idea and don't think I could know. My purpose for life are my reasons for not dying. My reasons for living are the same as the reasons I haven't yet killed myself. I'm not trying to be morbid, I'm just saying that it's easier to think of reasons why you don't kill yourself rather than think of reasons you live. At least it is for me. My reasons are, in no particular order: curiosity, fear of consequences for killing myself, music, good people / love, good food, a desire to create, good writing and the night sky.

the purpose of life is to worship the creator of the life, most people think that the purpose of life is to reproduce that is not true, reproduction is part of the life but it is not the purpose of it.
WHY?god says (i did not create the human and the jinns except for them to worship me and to Adore me).
see people says that we only have one life to live which is true but we are also being tested for the hereafter that is why the paradise and the hell was created too.
good deed in this life = PARADISE IN THE DAY OF JUDGMENT
bad deed = HELL MAY GOD PROTECT US FROM IT

the purpose of life is to understand that without God we can't do anything. When we first took that forbidden fruit we were basically saying-"we can do it are selves, we dont need your rules" just like the devil himself though he could do it better-that the God who created him, was just like him. lucifer betrayed God, and to get back he decided to go after us. convincing us that we dont need Him either. But we do-and that is what life is, to discover we are no better-not even close. but we can still make it-still have a chance, if we trust God.
all through, since the beginning, we go through hard times. from dying of old age, to murder. natrul disasters to terorists. from the bankrupt of a convience store, to the falling economy of a country.
eventually things will get worse. they already have. still we seem oblivious to God, to his message. we continue on with are lives and fight and argue over essentially nothing. what is the point of this endless pain?
to realize there is an end.
not by death, so much. but by the end of the world. eventually there will come a day when there is going to be war after war with all the countries against each other. with main focus on Isreal. when all hope seems gone. it will return in the form of Christ. here to interven and show us there is no point of fighting. we will realize that God gave us a chance to show we could get along w/ each other, to prosper and grow in God. he knew we would fail. but did it because we didn't. when that day comes we will all know that only God can fix the unfixable. Because, he is God. so he will create a new world, one which he will stay. and there will be harmony. those who did right in this life, go to this world(heavan). those who chose not to live in peace, go to...well you know. anyways i hope this helps. God Bless! :)
