i suggest you to read all Arina Tanemura's mangas:

i have been recommending these titles for so many times because i assure you wouldn't regret reading these mangas.... try this manga site....

You can't go wrong with Ranma 1/2, Death Note, Full Metal Alchemist, Galaxy Express 999, the original Fooly Cooly manga, HunterxHunter is a fun read too.
Out of all of them I would go with Death Note, it's only 12 volumes long and you don't have to get too involved. Although the story is gripping and makes you want to go back as much as you can.

If you like shoujo manga.. Hana Kimi is a good one... the maker of Meru Puri is the same as with Vampire Knight....
Genbu Kaiden is another Yuu watase work like Alice 19th and absolute boyfriend... Genbu Kaiden is the prequel of Fushigi Yuugi.. the female lead is tougher compare to Miaka.. If you like shinigamis then go for Death Note and Bleach...

how about hana kimi? The story involves a girl crossdressing as a man to get to know her idol more. If you want to laugh, Skip Beat is OK.

looks like you like shoujo, i'll have to recomend SKIP BEAT, hana kimi, nana......but its always good to keep an open mind and try other types of manga

I would say bleach, it's funny, has a lot of fighting.(a lot of people compare it to naruto, or death note though). Also, try love hina or school rumble. Dunno if youd like them, but some people do
