For Russia most people need visa, the rest of the countries are now part of the European Union. But they are not all part of Schengen, so visa requirements do differ.
As you do not tell where you are from, we can not tell if you need visa for them.

You can also check the websites of the individual countries, mostly the embassy sites of the country you are citizen are the easiest to get the info you need.

You most likely will need a visa for Schengen Countries OR (maybe and) Russia - if you don't go before 2008. By that time Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Poland will have implemented the Schengen Agreement. So far you have to check out also for those countries if citizens of your country need a visa.

well it of course depends on your nationality, and if you are at least from a shengen visa country.
