First, you need to know how many ounces are in a pound so that you can find the answer. There are 16 oz. in one pound.

If each cat is fed 11 ounces per day, and there are 9 cats, that is 99 ounces of food per day.

17lbs would equal 272 ounces because there are 16oz in 1lb and 17x16 is 272.

Now the question is, if the cats eat 99oz of food per day, and the bag contains 272oz, how long will it last?

So, you simply divide 272/99 and get 2.75. So, one package of cat food will last 2 3/4 of a day or almost 3 days.
