Yes! I am constantly being told that I act in a similar way to how my great grandmother acted...and I never met her. Also watching my sister's kids it is really funny to see some of their mannerisms and behaviors be so like my grandparents (also theirs) and they never met them.

Yes I do believe that, it isn't something I've ever put thought into but when asked by your question I would have to agree that heredity has a lot to do with ones personality.
Of course environment plays a significant role as well.

Of course. Heredity contributes to your looks. Personality is but another attribute of a person.

Naturally. It's been proven over and over with many studies that heredity and genetics influence personality, brain function, and predispositions towards mental condition.
That doesn't mean that heredity is fate, however. Your genes only provide the raw material, the blank pages if you will, - but environment and upbringing write the book.

I think heredity does play a role in personality, but I also believe individual experience is a bigger contributing factor towards personality. In any case, I wouldn't mind being compared to either one of my parents. (Mother = Teacher, Father = Author/ Veteran)

A personality is a combination of nature and nurture. the rules and values that an individual has been taught will impact how they respond to anything starting with preferred foods, to movies, to same sex marriage laws. there is also proof that if a child grows up with a family that is not its own, it may still have some of the same habits as a relative, no matter the nurture they have had, the nature is still there for all to see.

Oooh!
Nurture Vs, Nature... The great debate!
It's hard to say.. I do feel though that it's more to do with your upbringing than your genes.
But I guess if there is a mental health condtion that is hereditary that impacts on your personality, then yes!

I think it's more in the way you are raised. You learn to react to situations because of the things you've seen growing up. Abused families go on to abuse their families, etc. It's a learned trait.
