I think in the long run, it's better to ask for permission because you earn the trust from the person you ask, even if they say no this time and you don't get angry or storm out of the room, you'll be showing them that you're mature enough to handle the disappointment. you'll see that the next time you want to do or go somewhere, they will probably say yes.

if you have to ask for forgiveness, you might have lost a lot of trust and they may not let you do a lot of things you enjoy.
so I hope you'll ask for permission and have a lot of fun.
