They barely escaped a big upset from the much lower ranked team...Is this a sign that Texas will have a bad year or are they just warming up ? Also how good will Jamaal Charles do this year ?

I think it's a wee bit too early to judge, but even Mac Brown was disappointed. The team was pretty lethargic, and made some dramatic foul-ups. But, first game out of the chute, Texas won, let's move on to the next and see if they can clean up their act.

There first game was not-impressive. I think they are on they decline in the Big 12. The only thing that will keep them alive in the next few seasons is fan base, recruiting money, and the coat tails of a national championship. I do not say this as a T-sip hater which I am. Texas A&M is on the rise in the Big 12 and will win the Big 12, the only team that could give them trouble in the south is OU. GIG'EM Aggies!

Texas is a premier college football power with lots of talent don't let the first game worry you it's just a warm-up. The Longhorns will stampede the competition this year and be in a BCS Bowl.

They'll finish second to Oklahoma in the Big 12 South, as usual.

They could probably beat anyone in the SEC or Pac-10, but Oklahoma will kick their butts!

They were in trouble when they resigned Mack Brown to a big contract deal.

Texas will win 10 games but will not beat USC or LSU if they play.

Charles will be tough assuming he stays healthy.

I doubt it, they can lose a game and still take the B12. Only threat i see may be A&M and of course OK.

first game of the season, that's the reason they had the lesser opponent for the first game, just to warm up.
