This was THEE Harry Potter year
of all Harry Potter events.

I was so absolutely excited about
July.
(On July 8th, I went to the Sunset strip
in Hollywood and saw the Dan Radcliffe,
Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint at
the Grauman's Chinese Theater..yay!)

I saw the movie at midnight on opening
day and I thought it was good, but in all
honesty...it could have been a LOT better.
It seems like Yates, the director, put the
movie together just because it was an
obligation to finish the movie series faster.
The scenes were all short and choppy, but
it was good. I enjoyed the battle between
Dumbledore and Voldemort and thought it
was the most depressing thing when Sirius
fell through the veil.

As for the book, I also went to get that at
midnight at a Borders book store. I finished
it in three days and it was the most amazing,
shocking, surprising, and satisfying I think
any one could have asked for in the book.
It was really sad when some of the characters
died and others, not so sad. Rowling put
all the loose ends from the other books in here
and concluded them all and...it was just amazing
how much Harry, Ron, and Hermione have
matured and grew up together in this novel...
I've got to say I feared for their lives throughout
every chapter of the novel.

Finding out what happened with things that
were long forgotten to me also made me happy.

Greatest book ever.

I just hope it isn't massacred when it goes
into a film....

I didn't like the 5th movie too much. I've only read books 6 and 7, so I don't know how different the movies are from the books. But the 5th movie just seemed to move really slow and didn't have enough going on in the plot to make it as interesting as the previous movies were. I think it was probably the worse movie in the series so far, in my opinion. My dad and his wife, who are big Harry Potter fans, thought so too.

As for the final book, I liked it, but somehow I was expecting a little more from the ending. I'm not sure what exactly. I just felt like it should've been even bigger somehow.

Overall, I think the two books I read were very well written and kept me engaged enough so that I didn't want to put them down 'til I finished them. I have read books before that I would literally have to force myself to read it all cause they would move so slow (and they were half as thick as the Potter books).

Whenever I can save up enough money, I plan on getting the previous 5 books and reading them as well cause I've heard a lot of people say the movies have left a lot out and that the books are better.

I really liked the fifth movie. I know it was very different from the movie, but I thought it did the best job yet of being a movie, rather than trying to unsuccessfully follow the book scene by scene. I particularly liked the scenes with Harry and Sirius. I liked the book a lot too. The camping scenes did get a bit tedious, but I was very pleased with the ending. And I was glad to see my suspicions about Snape turn out to be true.

Haven't seen the fifth movie yet. The Deathly Hallows ... I liked it, there were so many high adventure parts, almost like mini endings to the book! I did not totally care for the epilogue, I think I liked leaving Harry where he was. I love HP, have read and reread all the books, have all the movies, but I just didn't care for the ending of the last book.

The HP movement was a wonderful phenomenon for our era. Lucky Rowlings fell into a pot of gold - who knew that so many kids were still loving books? But.... I really wish the protagonist had been female - Harriet Potter - because there are so few female-driven books for young readers. Hermione is killer but she is not the focus. How much more powerful for the "good" half to be female and the "evil" half to be male (Tom Riddle). I think that would have created a better balance in the story. Yin and Yang.

But, boy, what fun and what a great read for us all. Too bad the party's over. (PS I am so happy about Snape being redeemed!)
Love you, and keep reading, Sammy

first is the 5th movie. they took out so many parts that were important, for example the mirror that serius gives harry that will come up again in the 7th movie. also when fred and geroge leave the school they use a spell that creates a swamp and the teachers couldnt get rid of it, and the begining of the book when harry is siiting outside his aunt's house listning to the news under the window doenst even come. but overall it wasnt that bad

now of the 7th book. that waas so good, it couldnt have been any better. i loved how harry came back to life and how dumbledore had a role in the book. i cried so much when snape died, because i always known that he was good. but what made me sad is a couple of characters that died: i dont think fred shoulve died he was so funny, and then when mad eye died i was so sad, then lupin & tonks i cried so much, but some blood had to be sacrificed its voldemort. i was so happy when voldemort died. i was sooooo happy when Ginny and Harry got married, how cute is it that one of their kids name is Albus Severus its so cute, and ron & hermoine its finally done. i was really happy with the book, and how it ended. but im really sad that the best books i have ever read have come to an end.

Harry Potter is fantastic! The stories evoke so much emotion and always keep the reader anxious to see what is going to happen next! The seven book is deffinitely one of the best books i have EVER read. The 5th movie is excellent, however it does stray from the story line in the book.

The Harry Potter books were extraordinarily written and the stories were fantastic. The Movies were somewhat of a disappointment as too many details to those of us who followed the books were left out.

I hate the plot, story, style, and basically everything about Harry Potter! Every ending is like: oh you did something you were forbidden to do, but saved our school. Your team wins, Harry Potter! It gets so old and the characters drive me crazy. I like nothing about the books or the movies. It just saddens me that they are world wide best sellers....same with Eragon and Eldest. Sickens me to death.

The movie was good, but left alot out of the book. I was really looking forward to the brain attacking Ron and Weasley is our King but no avail.

The book was good, but really sad. I was dissapointed with the ending, I thought it left alot to be desired.

Overall, I LOVE Harry Potter!
