i have linksys router and internal linksys on my xp desktop computer. if i power on my computer my linksys wont work i then have to reboot for the wireless to turn on. its been like this for about 2 years. as soon as i put the internal linksys receiver in. how do i go about getting it to turn on the first boot???

i put the wireless card in 5 days after i got the computer. i installed it exactly as linksys described

Having had this same problem with several adapters in the past, I fixed mine by assigning and address to the adapter instead of using dhcp. If you assign one it wont have to wait to "pull" one from the router. This works for wireless or wired network cards by the way.
You can do this by right clicking on the adapter. Click properties, then click the TCP/IP connection. Change from obtain automatically to "Use the following address". Put in an address that is within your network -- like 192.168.1.88 (with linksys the default gateway will be 192.168.1.1) be sure that address is NOT IN the routers dhcp pool. (Linksys pool by default is .100-.150 so don't use one of those.)

The easiest way is insert it before power up. There are some other set-ups in the card properties that affect its operation. Also, the add/remove hardware function has to be turned on. What you are asking is really in-depth. Have you tried the FAQ section of Linksys support.
