Im trying to hook it up to a laptop with broadband through Madden 08. It says connection failed.
Do I need to buy something else or whats wrong?

How Does the laptop connect to the internet? Is it Dial up or a DSL Modem?
If the laptop is connected to the Internet by Dial up - then you need to set up "Internet Connection Sharing on the Laptop.
Then connect the two pc's with a "Cross Over" Ethernet Cable.
If the laptop connects to the internet by DSL Modem then you need to get a hub. Connect each computer to the HUB by Ethernet cable, then connect the HUB to the DSL Modem.

if your laptop is wireless then you need to bridge the ethernet port to your wireless conection and use a crossover ethernet cable(i had to make one for someone before. its not that hard to splice one together)but you can get one from Best Buy or Radio Shack .once you get that done your ps2 should be easy to hook up.

i prefer that fat ps2 but the slim is okay....make sure it dont get too hot. hook up the av cable on the back to the s video part

You need to open the control pannel of your ps2... dont have a disk in the ps2 and start it up... use the menu and guide yourself through the "Internet set-up wizard"

im pretty sure you have to hook it up to a router or a cable modem.
