That means that they are a Myspace whore. The number suffix represents their number of friends. For example, 6k is 6,000 friends, 2.5k is 2,500 friends, and 283k would be 283,000 friends.

and keep in mind that anyone who has more than 2000 (2k) friends is probably going to eventually be hacked - those profiles with tons of friends are the biggest target for hackers/spammers - never ever add anyone who brags about how many friends they have like that
