I work at a sunglass store (I'm actually here now) and I just had a customer come in and be rude!! I'm so tired of rude customers, i know it's just the nature of the business, but I just wanted to vent!! So anyone here have any stories to tell or advice on how to handle a situation with a b****y customer?? Thanks, just looking for comments really!

Just smile and nod....it really pisses them off and it's the best revenge against an angry customer.

It's fair enough to vent, and a lot better to vent here or to friends than to be rude back to the customer, and risk getting fired.

Fortunately most customers are decent. There will always be a few who aren't. They are not happy people, and there's nothing you can do about it other than serve them as quickly as possible and get them out of the store.

well, you can think about it this way...at least you don't work for walmart. I did for 10 years. unfortunately that was probably one of my customers pissed that i wasn't there to step on. these people used to buy items that they needed to make their lives easier, now they spend money to validate their self worth. really, you should just try to find the humor in the situation and just let it roll off your back if not you'll get ulcers. well as for a story... i once worked for a bookstore, and i had a customer who wanted a book that was highlighted on Oprah...no title...no author...no subject...but it was blue. when i tried to explain to the customer that it was impossible to find that book, she asked me if i watched Oprah. i replied no I'm at work at that time and the show is known for changing the books highlighted. she replied that i was incompetent and that she would get the book from the competitor down the street...I suggested that she not let the door hit her on the way out... and have a good day. sometimes you can get some satisfaction.

unfortantly in this line of business there is nothing we can do about it and always remember them being that way is there problem and it should not affect the way you are or act. Just smile and know you are being the better person. I hope this helps
