How has the WNBA been around this long?

I really don't know, and no i don't watch it, because women don't have the power to make the game as exciting as i like it to be.No disrespect to the ladies but i think basketball is better played by the guys.

Give the female basketball players some break. Give them job so they'll not end as prostitutes.
And I watched WNBA but not on regular basis. Without WNBA, the USA team have no basketball gold in major international tournaments. Remember that the American Womens team are the one who delivered the gold in 2004 Olympics and 2002 World Championship and not the highly rated Mens team composed of NBA millionaires, cry-babies and spoiled-brats.

I watch the WNBA because I enjoy quality basketball at any level. Quality basketball to me is not the number flashy dunks or no-look passes that I can see in a game. Rather it is the level of competition and the desire and heart that the players show while playing the game. These ladies play the game with so much heart while getting paid much less than their NBA counterparts. They don't play like the men do because they are not men. It doesn't make them less talented however, and it doesn't mean that their games are not good quality.

i only watch detroit. because its like a sexist thing. men have NBA, then how come women cant have WNBA. just like that a commercial on tv when a woman is saying, "it's not boys thing, it's not a girl thing, it's skillz thing"

It's been here since 1996. I watch, it's nice to watch just ONE sport in which NO players get into legal troubles.

i watch it because the women out there who play have to work twice as hard to get the same recognition as the men....and they do it. :)

not positive but i think the are supported with funding from the NBA and that is what keeps them afloat..
