I used 72' felt. I laid it out and found the center of the skirt, Put a pin there and from there hook a piece of string on it to the length you want your skirt, remember you have to cut out for the waist, so allow for that to be cut out. Move the string around the material like you would a protracter and draw a half circle. when sewn it will be a full circle. You can get a picture of a poodle out of a coloring book. Cut a piece of fabric the length of your waist, plus allow for over lap to hook and eye, when sewing up sides of skirt don't forget to put in a zipper. It was kind of hard to describe this, but hope you understood me.

the poodle skirts were always cut on the bias. I have seen patterns at the fabric store. check out this cool web site I found by googling poodle skirt.

go online for one, just go to google and search poodle skirt patterns. Not hard.
You could also buy a poodle decal and sew it onto an already existing skirt. Also not hard.

You measure the length of the dog. Again around the body. Cut a bit loose... Around the neck, you could a tiny collar. No legs, just around the dog and you use a velcro to attach under the belly.
