I had a procedure done called Essure. This is supposed to be considered a permanent souce of birth control that does not require surgery or hospitalization. It is reversable, but it requires surgery to remove the tubal inserts. I need more information about the reversal procedure, and how much it costs.

Another site where you can get additional information is at: http://www.WebMD.com (they have a Women's Health board there too) and also at: http://forums.obgyn.net/womens-health

I would say if you are uncertain about wanting more children in the future tubal litigation is not the way to go. They say they can be reversible, but that isn't a 100 percent effective.... their are chances the reversal surgery may not work. Tubal litigation should be used by women who are a 100 percent certain they don't want any more surgery. Perhaps looking into some such as an IUD.... which can stay in for several years and requires little care.
