A few years ago I was addicted to the local yahoo chat room... there were a few "chat parties" where the "regulars" were invited and often times "strangers" would show up, as they were invited by someone at the party who was on the chat room... I didnt get involved with anyone (Thank God), just wanted to place some faces to who I was chatting with
It was really weird, people would call me by my handle and not my name, although I introduced myself properly. There were people hooking up, smokin pot, and what not. Lots of people got pregnant, married (and eventually divorced), and an STD was goin round too...
Honestly, I believe I've only met maybe 1 out of every 6, that did not have some kind of issue. Lots of deceit and desperation is how I view meeting people off the internet

I've met people that I first knew online, but not from yahoo. Experiences were good.

Not me... too easy to for a person to say the things you want to hear and appear to be the kiind of person you want to meet.
I am really in my fourties and not at all good looking but I could tell you I am 25 go to the gym 4 times a week and hold an executive position....
You would not know the difference

I met 2 people from Yahoo chat ...one from Pa and one from Ok....it was a great experience...that was a few years ago and we all still keep in touch

Not from YA but from my Yahoo Hiking,camping, fishing groups I have had over 30 people come to Alaska to have me host their vacations with them. They all say it was the trip of a liftime and we are all close friends. I have one friend that has came up to fish and hike with me 4 times! So yea great experience and all awsome people.

2 of my contacts were friends of mine before yahoo.
Another contact and I have plans to meet at Christmas time, I know it will be good. He's like a big brother! Can't wait to meet him in person. =)
