"holding all the cards" would be a similar expression, but as far as words go, "dominance" or "domination" is all I'm can think of.

Monopoly means exclusive control or possession of something and can also mean a market in which there are many buyers but only one seller. There is no word per say for the actual word 'monopoly' in any thesaurus I have or on the Thesaurus site on the web either but if you define it by the meaning, then you can use these words to describe it.....

Synonmys for CONTROL:

Monopoly's synomyms then would mean 'single or sole mastery or operation in a dominant way.
