If we do not defend ourselves, then we sit back while Sunni and Shia kill themselves and kurds in Iraq. Syria, Saudi, Turkey and Iran move into Iraq under the Guise of making peace, they annex as much as they can and war with each other over territory. This will cause mayhem in the persian gulf region which will cause oil prices to rise and the supply lines to slow drastically or come to a halt. This , in turn, will cause worldwide (Yes, in our precious USA also) oil prices to skyrocket which will make prices for delivery of everything to go up. This will cause businesses to go under. This will cause a mortgage crisis, this will cause hunger, .crime murder etc etc etc. and on and on and on. This is bigger than the fantasy of a peaceful world. Peace can be achieved if the radicals are wiped out. There is no other option.
