i think it it up to the parents on how much is to much . but some parents dont have the extra money to give so you have to look at that also.be thankful for the roof and food your parents give you that is enough but some money dont hurt,

Like a couple of people before me said, "It depends on how she uses it, what chores she does, and if she pays for her own living costs."
In my opinion it's too much. Allowance isn't the money used for food, clothes, and etc. It's just extra money.
Because think:
That person probably gets EVERYTHING else paid for.
If it went straight to a college fund, all the power to them!
It just seems like a risky situation in which your friend might use the money for something unreasonable.

It depends on what she's expected to buy with it. Does she have to pay for her own gas, clothing, lunches, etc? In that case, it isn't too much. If it just mad money, then I'd have to wonder why she gets so much. But, right after that, I'd wonder why it's my business to wonder about whether she gets "too much allowance". Thinking like that suggests a certain degree of envy or jealousy.

Depends on the age of the receipitant. For someone 15 and above, this is a better than average allowance, but not extravagant. For a kid in their pre teen years, this is TOO MUCH.

depending on the age of the child and what her parents make.. if they are rich and can easily afford it.. like really upper class than it is ok ..but if they are working class then it is way to much.. it would be better if the child earn that type of money
i would say 10 dollars a week for keeping your room clean and doing house hold chores..unless your parents are very rich and could afford it

That is a lot, but like the other person said, does some of that money go towards lunch and clothes and other needed items.

How old is your friend?

Does she have a lot of chores thats she's responsible for?

Well, my mom is starting this with me. It seems like a lot, but I'm going to have to work for mine and also, if we go out to eat I have to pay for my own food. My mom will still be paying for every other one of my needs, but I respect her and will be working for it. It might be a lot, and it may not. Depending on what they make her pay for or if she just gets it with no cost.

confident, while you're procuring each and every little thing. My dad and mom purchase all my outfits and toiletries and whatnot. i are not getting an allowance yet I think of they spend approximately $one hundred a month on me for that.

Yes it is too much. Even if she did all the chores in the house it is too much because her parents are still paying for everything else that she needs or wants. And if she doesn't do any chores at all, that is waaaaay too much.

Yeah, I'd consider that a whole lot....especially if she's still fairly young. Nice that her folks make enough they can afford that, but $1200 a year for a kid to blow on "stuff" is excessive.
