That heels are a necessary part of professional wrestling?
They add an edge to the storyline that otherwise without it would be boring.
To quote Roger Ebert "Each film is only as good as its villain".
The WWE in a way is essentially a neverending movie with an athletic edge to it, take away all the heels and there is no plotline or problem situation, just a bunch of babyfaces coming out week after week, telling gay jokes, and repeating their catch phrases over and over again. Who wants that?

Oooohhhh a Roger Ebert quote - Now im officially impressed, not that i wasnt before, but being a student of film ... impressive.
Lets give an example shall we - Star Wars, what would have star wars been without Mr Darth Vader??? Even the 2nd movie, Christopher Lee (who played Count Dooku) fought with Yoda, imagine if it was Yoda vs Mace Windu ... not going to happen.
The fans sometimes just want to see faces/good guys always win, unfortunately in the REAL world good doesnt always prevail...

With wrestling, some people can't separate fact from fiction.
There's a lot of people that still hate heels because they assume that that's how the wrestlers are in real life.
I bet it would shock the hell out of them to see Randy Orton and John Cena eating dinner together at a Denny's after a show.

I aint got nothing against heels mather of fact I think they keep the show going better than the faces.You will always be thinking what there gonna do next.As for the faces you know they'll try to do the good thing and beat the heel,Boring lol.

Your comment is very true. Everything in life has its' flip side if you think about it. To exist successfully that is the way it must be. The heels are part of the whole like it or not. Kinda like the parts of our body maybe we aren't wild about em all, but if something does not exist the whole is lacking. Good question.
