Most modern scientists agree that the Universe is 13.7 Billion Years old. I am not sure how to rationalize that with recent findings by scientists and astronomers of objects in deep space which are 40 Billion Light Years from us. This information comes from Ian Ridpath in his book, ASTRONOMY.

Got the answer off TV.
They guessed about the age of the Universe, but don`t remember EXACTLY (63 billion?)
In the grand scheme of things, we`re not even a wink!
What is more important is our infinitestimal contribution to it!

Scientists think they can estimate it to be billions of years , but that is based an many assumptions that probably are not true.
There is no way to go back in time and make for sure...so they simply guess....based on assumptions of meassurements of physical law still here today...which may or may not have existed that many years ago.
