simplified means to make it so that no more operations can be performed. for example, "x+4" is simplified.

Here is an example the fraction 16/64 well it's an improper fraction. It can be simplified to 1/4. Many times during the process of simplification the answer becomes more apparent.

for example, 2x+4 is not simplified, but 2(x+2) is because it cannot be broken down any further

Simp sounds like simple. So the word means simple, to make it easier.
