if the lion ran into a midget every once in a while over some years there wouldnt be 40 midgets but there would still be a lion.

I think the 40 midgets. Once the lion ate 20 of them he would probably be to tired and full to defend himself.

if the 40 midgets had some sort of strategy and/or long range weapons, then they would win. and if the lion was hungry and not tired or lazy, then he would win.
