I do not hate President Bush. I disagree with alot of his policies, but I respect him as a man and our President. I did not vote for him in 2000 or 2004.

I don't hate him. I just don't think he's done a very good job. The first time I took issue with Bush was with the Iraq war. I was upset that we went to war against the request of the UN. We are part of the UN for a reason, it's important. Regardless if you feel it's effective or not, we do boast that we are better than "terrorists". But since then, I've gotten more and more frustrated with this Administration. We mocked are one of our strongest allies, the French, because they didnt support this war even though they helped us during the revolutionary war and gave us one of our national treasures. Yes, the symbol that represents our freedom! The Statue of Liberty was a gift from France. All we do is bash the French and it makes me sick, they would not have given us such a gift if they did not respect this country and they would not have helped us if they had not hated IMperial England so much (yes, the French are imperialists as well, I know that and they have many of the same issues we have, such as immigration! )
When it became clear that the President had condoned illegal wire taps, holding prisoners without due process and torturing our enemy combatants, I though, my God, what have we become? Where is our moral high ground! Do we not hold ourselves in high regard?
There was also the rhetoric that was used, if you don't support the war you are UnAmerican. Dissent is not acceptable in a time of war. It's exactly when we should be questioning things, this is how a President stretches his powers. We have three branches of Government for a reason.
The other part that galls me is the fact that this President has used the Christian right and matters of personal choice as a way to drive people to the polls (the original conservative wanted the government out of these personal choices, we should not legislate such matters). We are so convinced that by letting gay people marry and letting a woman have a choice about what happens to her body means we are on our way to hell. This use of fear and scripture is downright insulting. As a Christian myself I'm insulted by this reasoning and many of the things the Administration has condoned goes against my Christian values.

I don't hate the President. I hate what he has done to America and the rest of the world, but I don't hate a person.

Well, personally, I don't hate. It's too strong of a word. I strongly dislike the president because he has done a bad job overall and I merely want to see America do better.

Nope! I hate the things he has done to this country. Being a Republican has nothing to do with it! I have voted Republican at times; especially when I have felt that the Democrats did not field a good candidate, one that I could vote for with any amount of confidence in their abilities. I always vote, just not always for the same party! To-date, neither party has convinced me that they are going to nominate a winning ticket for America's average person. No matter, I'm still going to vote even if I just have to choose between, what I feel to be, the lesser of two bad choices!

I dislike him because he is a poor leader, and he hasn't been a very good guide for our country in the years he's been in office. I never dislike a politician based on their party- usually it's their ethics and leadership skills.
On the topic of the Iraq war- I can't say he was entirely to blame for it. Only one senator/representative voted against the bill when it was initially passed. And that one senator still stands against it.
I also blame the media and politicians for polarizing the political field so much. I've stopped using the phrases "Liberal" and "Conservative". The meaning of both terms have been horribly skewed.
Edit to add: I'm also in disagreement with the Patriot Act and the No Child Left Behind Act. Both of those have hidden provisions in them (don't deny it until you read the *full* text. This includes small print and amendments.) "Protecting" us until we have no privacy, and taking away liberties such as free speech, which so many value in this coountry, is no way to control this sort of thing.

Lets see now, why I hate Bush:
He got us into an unjustified war. ( Yeah, that
old thing. You see Liberals don't believe that you
can kill a couple of hundred thousand people and
then say "Opps, sorry about that. Lets all forget it.")
He lied to us about it.
He's irresponsible on environmental issues.
He's brokered 'pork` to business cronies.
He's allowed the "Wealth Gap" to worsen.
He failed badly to handle the New Orleans disaster.
He's made the STUPID decision to rebuild
New Orleans - so the same thing can happen again.
oh Yeah, and he's a Republican.

Doesn't hate Repubs, there are bad Dem and Repub politicians. Bush has been a HUGE disappointment. His entire administration has been a series of one bad decision after another. Just when you think they've finally figured it out they make another huge mistake and you realize finally they are so lost and out of touch with reality.

I hate President Bush because he is inept. Party has nothing to do with it. If the USA was not reviled around the globe right now and if we weren't in such a state of division between the two parties I would be fine with him. He is condescending to all those that do not agree with him and I have never heard a president take so many shots against the opposing party as this man has. I am also sick and tired of him blaming everything on the previous administration. He has yet to take any responsibility for any of his actions. He is a politician first and foremost. And look what he did to the Rangers!
