I run my window air conditioner in the main bedroom all day and all night...It has been going non-stop so yesterday when it was not working properly i freaked then i saw that it was iced over in the inside so i turn it off for several hours..the ice melted and now it's fine and working great...is that normal for it to ice over like that?

I usually keep it at high on 10 as it's hot in florida

Very normal, especially if humidity is high outside as well as hot. You did the only thing that helps...turn if off until it defrosts. Running it on a higher temperature (lower setting) will extend the time it takes to frost up but it will still happen.

Most of the time ,when one freezes over it is to small for the room are it is low of R-12 or some one mite have opened a door and made it to large of and area to cool It may need cleaning

Flush the inside coil fins and the outside coil fins with a hose. I flush mine every year with the water hose to clean the coil fins of dirt an debris that get trapped in the fins. Be careful not to bend the fins. You may also want to get a fin comb and straighten bent fins.

Yes if it runs too long or at low speed but high cooling.
