in business for instance? Or could you go to a D-3 school and still make a successful business? I'm highly innovative and intelligent, but I don't know if I really want to attend those larger schools.

You don't need a top tier school to be financially successful. However, depending on what you want to do to become successful, a top school can make it easier for you.

It may be harder to get into a medical school if you go to a low rate school. However, if you have a great idea and market it well, you don't need a high profile eduction or school to do this.

You don't have to go to a great undergrqaduate school to be successful -- but it helps. For example, if you want ot eventually go to a top B-School for an MBA, having a degree from a good university is a plus.
