Kids in school use s.o.s for help me now!!! S.O.S. means save our ship or sail or ship. The Jonas Brothers sing S.O.S. listen to that song and you will know what it means to them. For people who are speaking about soldiers it means, save our soldiers. It also means son of sam, that horror movie. I guess it all depends on how you are using it. SOS is also a cleaning pad.
The girls use it a lot at our school in class and when they say SOS, they need help but not serious help, only to be bailed out of a jam.

SOS usually means Some One Special, but in older times, SOS meant Save Our Ship

Many people think that it stands for either "Save our Ship" or "Save our Souls" (onboard a sinking ship). In actuality, it was just a combination of three letters that, when sent, meant distress. The three letters were chosen because the Morse Code for them was easy to remember and transmit. It is three short presses on the telegraph key (for "S") followed by three long presses (for"O") followed by three more short presses (for the second "S"). It comes out as - - - ... - - - People later attributed words to the letters.

Save Our Ship = S.0.S. It has become a symbol for people that are stranded on a remote, desolate island or for those that are lost at sea. I hope that this helps !!

originally it meant "save our ship". but now it sometimes means"some one special". it really just depends in what context you use it.
