I go for 8 hours a day and then come home and do homework until 3 in the morning then wake up at 6. And still don't get all of my homework done and get yelled at the next day for not having it done. Do they think we have nothing else to worry about besides school?!?!

And yes, I have stayed up till 3 doing homework.

amen.
that's exactly what they think.
i don't exactly have to do the whole homework thing though because i go to public school and i'm in all regular classes.
but still school is school and home is home.
don't give us work to do just because you have no control over the class and didn't have time to give it to us then.

You are working too hard to be up till three. You get home about three or four, right? You eat dinner and then start your homework about seven? From seven to three is still way too much and is not healthy for you. It will be very hard for you to concentrate in school and learn anything if you are only getting five hours of sleep a night.

Keep a log of how much time you spend on each subject for the next week.

I think you should talk with each of your teachers and show them your log. Make an appointment to see some of them before and and some after school. Tell them what you are doing. Tell them that you are working hard, but maybe you are not working smart. Ask them for their suggestions. Maybe there are other ways to study they would recommend than what you are doing. At the least, they will see how much homework you are being given and maybe consider lightening the load somewhat without you asking them to.

You should not be up until 3:00 AM studying. You should be in bed by 10 at the latest.

Your teachers want you to succeed. Ask for their advice. They will help you see a faster easier way to get the job done.. and if you are not using your weekends wisely, ask for counsel from them about that, too.

In the multitude of counselors there is safety. Let them help you with specific study techniques which will work best in their classes. Maybe you are trying to paint a wall with a toothbrush, and they have some power tools to share.

Im a freshman and I feel like that too. It seems like it just wont stop... but if you are struggling in a class (or classes) because of the amount of homework or lack of sleep, then you should talk to the teacher. On projects do not procrastinate, then you will haveto pull an overnighter. Also, make sure before doing any of this that you actually are working the whole time you are home; you dont want to make trouble for your teacher if you are on the phone until nine when you start working.

First off, why do you go to school for 8 hours? If you have extra periods, cut some of them out of your schedule.

Secondly, say school starts for you at 7:50 like it does for me. If you're at school for 8 hours you should get home around 4:00. That still gives you 5 hours to do homework, and that's just if you go to bed at 9:00. That should be plenty of time, even if you have a lot of homework. Unless, you have ADD. You may not know it but you can tell if it's really hard to stay focused on something for more than 5 minutes. Do you get up and walk around, or go get something to eat when you're suppose to stay focused on something like your homework or any other boring job? If you do that then you may unknowingly have ADD (attention defecit disorder) or you just may be procrastinating.

If you have extra ciricular activities you may want to cut those out until you have enough time to put them into your daily schedule.

Just giving suggestions. You have the power to cut out some stress in your life.

school can be stressful for everyone; no matter how much of our lives interfere.. the best way to keep up with all of the work is to be organized and manage your time wisely. staying up late at night and waking up only a few hours later is a spiraling obstacle that would only set you back even farther the next day.. everyone of your peers at school are going through the same thing so seek help and see their strategies to keeping up with the work and then you'll also be a better student with less stress..

Well I mean you know school is a very important part of life. So therefore you have yo deal with it. I know that you don't want to go but you have to and i go to school so i know what it means. Then, some of the things you so after school you can put aside to get your homework done early.

God, where do you go to school? I just teach 1st grade, but I did teach third and fourth...I never gave that much homework. I just gave them about a half hour or so a night. You must be in a really good school. Good luck

Whatever homework is given to you daily, it is not 'individually given to you'. Everyone in your class is given the same homework. Why don't you think that when others are not being stressed by it, why you are stressed? It seems the deficiency lies in you and you are blaming others.
Get determined and by His grace you shall soon be released of the stress but you have to do it daily, this is a reality.
Trick is 'no lacuna and no backlog when you go to sleep'.

There's just no way that you have that much homework. No way. With all AP classes, with every class they have possible you could maybe work until 2. If you're responsible, then you should finish a lot earlier. Don't get distracted. And stop whining. You just don't have that much homework. You procrastinate and pretend you have that much. You could easily have less.
