a certain person just doesn't get the point that you don't want to talk to them?
I have this person in my life that all they ever talk about is them and I can never get in a single word. They are always poor me and no matter what I say to them they just don't listen. I don't mean to sound mean but I am a happy person mostly all of the time and I find that this negative attitude just makes me gloomy. What would you do to get your point across?

LOL I am sorry, April, but my first answer was to stop talking to them.
Now, try not to see this person any more than you have to.
That type of person takes a lot of patience and energy and I don't envy you.

My sister is like that. I just ignore her most of the time when she is talking. I used to try to help her with her problems, but some people just don't want help. They like to wallow in their own self-misery and get off on bringing everyone else down with them. I talk to her until she starts the moping, and then I just tune her right out. : )

well you could get a support group :)
or you could keep trying to ignore how much it bugs you just to try to keep the peace. Besides she just lived through the great flood :)

Avoid them whenever possible. Grin and nod when you can't.
