In your opinion is it alright for someone to make fun of, abuse, harass, harm or disrespect prostitues and women you would consider to be "hoes"?

I have noticed in todays culture a lot of people think its alright if not expected to do or say abusive things to and or about prostitues, women who sleep around, women who do drugs and women who are in abusive relationships or let themselves be abused by men. What do you think.

by the way i am asking this question in this section because i am especially looking forward to seeing female's opinions on this subject and im guessing this section would be the most likely to get that.

It is never ok to abuse anyone, ever. Do you have to like prostitutes or drug dealers? No. Does the fact that they are in those situations give anyone the right to abuse them? No. If they're on drugs, what they need is help - they need to get into a program to help them stop the substance abuse.
Prostitutes frequently turn to prostitution because of a drug habit, in which case, helping the drug addiction would help with the prostitution. There are also the women who turn to prostitution because they feel it is the only way they can make a living. And as sad as it is, for some women, it comes down to a choice between eating and paying the rent, or keeping her dignity intact. In a nation where 70% of the population lives at or below the pverty line, it is hard to be too judgemental of someone for making money the best way she knows or can see how. Most of us in this country barely scrape by, have little to no health insurance, and are in considerable debt. All of this, while unemplyment is epidemic. I'm not saying that turning to prostitution is right. What I am saying is that, for some women, it seems like the only alternative.

Not all but most prostitutes are on the game to feed a drug habit personally I think it's disgusting there is no ex use for it these days and in this country I wouldn't like to offend anyone here but there are facilities for these women to be housed and get an income in a decent way there is no need for them to do it and to put themselves in danger and surely if they'd been abused or beaten up they would want to be as far away and disconnected from that sort of scene as possible there are hostels and charities open to people with living difficulties and I think these women have no body but themselves to blame for living such a sad and degrading existence life is about choices and your own life is what you make it it's easy to get in to drugs alcohol and prostitution but why wouldn't they fight for something better instead of living the life of a prostitute nobody can help them but them selves and there are definitely better ways of making a living like maybe getting a proper job like the rest of us I don't feel sorry for them at all it's there choice.

well of course it's ok to not like them, because it's absolutely impossible to like everybody in the world, but that shouldn't have anything to do with the fact that they're prostitutes. to disrespect and abuse them, however, is extremely rude similar to being racist, except it's more "groupist" than anything.

i'm not a prostitute (i happen to be a rather nerdy and athletic 15 year old girl), but would YOU like to be disrespected and abused?

some ppl put themselves in situations where they can be criticized. only that person know whats good for them. so ppl criticize them not knowing their situation, not knowing why they are doing it. im sure most prostitutes wont say, i love sex, so i do it for money...most of them have life struggles.

i can see why prostitutes are disrespected, but i don't think they deserve to be "abused" neccessarily...i mean people are entitled to their own opinion but abuse is wrong

No, it's not. They're human beings, too. Remember, they are ALL somebody's daughter, somebody's "little girl."
