yes it will go much faster but depends on the processor as well and you can use a sinlge 512 Dimm or 2x256, you have to read your computers technical specs for better reference.

More ram will increase the speed some what but you need to read the specifications of the mother board to find out what type of RAM and MHZ it will take. Its an old model by the looks of things and would not be worth spending any money on it. Might be better to upgrade some time soon.

I'm hoping that that "12mb" was supposed to be 128mb!

Yeah, it will make it faster, but with only 500Mhz that's going to start limiting you. Not sure that you'd see a huge diff between say 256 and 512MB

One stick or two - refer to your computer's specs to see what sizes and types it takes.

I assume you mean 128 Mb, and you are running Windows XP.

In that case, yes, upgrading to 512 should help quite a bit. 2x256 is just fine,

check your motherboard for what kind or how many sticks and memory rom is for reading or transferring data may help if it is what you are asking about but when you talk about speed you are more likely talking about processor. That is a different thing.

how much ram ... anyway no ... more than 512 wont do anything on that machine ... and i guess it depends on if the motherboard supports 512mb modules or not ... and if u can even find 512 sd modules or whatever it is ..
