Do you think this world would be so much better without teen pregnancies and sex before marriage? I think people should change their kids dating age to 18. It seems like whenever a teen gets pregnant they cry and feel sorry for theirselves. Some people even call me immature because I think it is bad to have sex before marriage! I think having sex with a "boyfriend" is immature. The only thing teenage boys want is to have sex.

Who' with me?

Um, not me. Did pregnant teens start the world wars? Are they responsible for Global Warming? That's a very biased statement, and it's really not fair. What if you were in that situation. You want to know what really makes the world a bad place, when people completely disregard that whole "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all." saying. Imagine how many fights, shootings, lives could have been spared if people would just keep their mouths shut, and stop picking out other people's flaws, like they're better than everybody. And I'm saying all of this in the nicest way possible, k thanx <33.

OK i agree with the gist of your details except this point. "The only thing teenage boys want is to have sex." To correct you on this. The only thing some teenage boys want is to have sex. And ALL girls, (ALL GIRLS) are attracted to those boys that only want them for sex. Me personally, i have too much sh!t going on to think about ****** all the girls that are willing to spread their legs for me. On a second point that comment is very sexist. Because there are just as many girls who only want sex from a guy. Don't rule out the fact that girls can use guys too. They are called sluts, and once they get what they want they are off to the next guy. Another point is, whats to say that when those kids turn 18 they are not going to have pre-marital sex. Especially since now they are off to college, have way more freedom to do what they want. Pre-marital sex is worse in college students, because the won't have to sneak around to have sex anymore. Though the pregnancy rate is lower because of birth control pills. So changing the dating age to 18 won't really be a factor. There will just be less pregnant 13 year olds and more pregnant 18 year olds. I don't think you are immature because of your beliefs, but downing someone else's beliefs is pretty immature. If a 13 year old gets pregnant by her boyfriend, its not being immature its just a stupid mistake. People make stupid mistakes, and having unprotected sex when they are not ready for the responsibility is a stupid mistake. You can't change a stupid mistake, but you can make it better. You can always change immaturity through growth and development.

I agree that sex before marriage is not the best choice. As a parent, you try "changing" a dating age. We just have to teach our children right and wrong and trust that they follow of course with some guidance.
Teen pregnancy is not new. My grandmother had her first child at 11, she was a child bride. My aunt had her first child at 13 she was also a child bride. In the days before now children were considered young adults and had much more responsibility than "children" of today's era. On farms soon as you walked you got out and had a chore no matter how dangerous. By the time a young woman could physically bear children she was pregnant. We just act so surprised because we don't teach our daughters to be mothers, hoping that they will wait and all for what? A career? Wow. We have really gotten **** backward as a society.

I am 13 and have a "boyfriend." We have visited each other, gone on hikes and stuff like that, supervised by my parents. Believe me, NOT all teenage boys are after being cool or getting laid. The world would be better if teens were more responsible. But no matter how responsible they are there will always be teen pregnancies. And some of these teens do turn out to be excellent mothers who grow up to be stronger women (although every situation is different.) If the dating age was set to 18 the problem would be even worse. After all, kids in Italy and China are allowed to drink and there is less alcoholism in many foreign countries than the U.S where the drinking age is 21.

I for one am not with you. I think this world would be better without all its sexual hangups. Teenage boys want more than sex, and teenage girls are sexual beings just like their male counterparts. Thinking sex is immature is an incredibly medieval way to look at the world, and denial about sex amoung teens will only lead to higher levels of teen pregnancy and STIs. Of course pregnant teens are upset, they have suddenly been thrust into an adult situation that result in an adult situation that they were not prepared for. I was a pregnant teen, and you know what, I was calm about it because I was fortunate enough to have been educated about all my options, from birth control to pregnancy. So before you go shooting your mouth off on the internet, think long and hard about what you are actually saying, and how you feel when people call you immature for your beliefs.

Im not gonna say that having sex before marriage is wrong because i dont think so. As long as teens know what they're getting themselves into, nothing should go wrong. People have different ways of viewing things. Some teens might think having sex now is absolutely disgusting and risky while other teens have been having sex for a while. It's all about personal decisions and how your personality is. Me, personally, I think that i'm not wrong for having sex at this age and some people might think thats stupid but thats my opinion and opinions are never wrong. If parents don't want their child having sex at this age then they should take more drastic measures in preventing it instead of threatening their child. They should tell their teens and talk to them about the dangers of having sex. That's all it takes.

I think the world would definitely be better without teenage pregnancies, but not necessarily with no sex before marriage. I am not saying that you should have sex with a guy after only two weeks, but when you love one another. And about the dating age, it all depends on what morals the teen is taught. Hopefully, parents will teach their children to have respect for their bodies and to be smart on when to have sex. If no sex before marriage is what you believe in, I respect that and won't judge you. I am just saying that some couples are together for 5 years before marriage and might even be living together, just as if they were married.

Sounds to me like you are being antagonistic. You are better than everybody else. Get over yourself. The world was not better in the 50s when teen pregnancy was low and there was a lot less sex before marriage. Instead boys would hit on the most vulnerable and the girl would be sent away and forced to give up her child. Children of one parent homes were stigmatized by folks like you. Many were involuntarily sterilized because they were on welfare for a period. On the other hand, stand up guys married the girl before she had the baby. What has happened to that?

Also, statistics showed that 79% of married men had sex outside of marriage at least once in the 50s. Nice, huh? It's about 60% now. Cheating on your wife was accepted as part of marriage by many because they didn't know any better (their father did the same). So, stop living the world through rose colored glasses. Deal with the problem as it is now.

i believe sex is ok when in a committed, long term, serious relationship. not just sleeping with anything that comes your way. now heres no reason why teenagers are getting pregnant,as much as a parent wants to believe their daughter is not having sex they need to put them on birth control when they're 16. thats what im going to do with my daughters if i ever have any girls, which i probably will i want 4 kids and im pregnant for the 2nd time but first baby, i miscarried last sept. teens have sooooo much to live for, shouldnt screw it up with getting pregnant. you have your mid-twenties and all of your 30's to have babies. teens need to enjoy being a kid, and not try to grow up so fast. being an adult sucks sometimes. i wish i could be 16 and 17 again. be a kid dont rush things

I think having sex before marriage is up to everyone. I myself, think sex is something very important in a couple, and something very natural as well. If you have protected sex, then why should it matter?

Problem is that parents avoid the sex talk and keep it taboo. That's when kids have unprotected sex thinking nothing will ever happen to them. When I'm a parent I will show my kids a condom, and how it works. And I will even offer them condoms if they need them. They're gonna have sex anyway, so why not make sure yourself that it's gonna be protected?

Having sex with your boyfriend is NOT immature, unprotected sex IS. And having taboos while being a parent is immature as well.

Cheers!
