Why torment yourself wondering; please show the notes to her and ask for an explanation. Then you will know where you stand and what action to take. Better to find notes before she reacts on this impulse, when you and she still have the chance to discuss her feelings, than to find out after she has filed.

You left out a vital piece of information -- is that what you want? I believe your marriage should be close enough and open enough that you'd've been the first person to have known about it... She's keeping a secret. Are your responses to things she tries to bring up to you often bad responses? Ask her if she's planning on a divorce, and listen to her reasonings without becoming offended. Try to understand it from her point of view and see if there is anything that can be worked on. Dr. Willard Harley has great books on rebuilding marriages. Oh, and an affair may be a possible reason. If you're serious about keeping her forever, and you can remind her that she promised the same... you can work though it. But it's one tough ride.

If the notes leave little to the imagination about the intent behind them, perhaps ask her why. Find out if counselling could help. If not maybe it's time you did your own talking to someone about a divorce.

Find out why if you dont know, then talk with her try to find out why she wants a divorce, if you dont already know...............
