When you do what an actor is supposed to do when he acts, you naturally change emotions as required by the scene, and it is real, it doesn't just seem real.
This requires knowing what acting is. 'Acting is responding to stimuli in imaginary circumstances in a creative and dynamic manner that is true to the character and his environment so as to communicate ideas and emotions to an audience," Tony Barr quoted in The Tao of Acting. That is all acting is. Except it is also playing (the way children play when they assume roles) and it is fun and it is EASY. It requres no great study of the play except to be able to answer what would be true to the character and his environment. Want to learn more? Imagine your character, ask yourself what would he/she do in this situation. dont think about it to much, it should become natural. practice facial expressions in the mirror. there would have to a reason why their emotions would change. how would you/character deal with it in real life.

First thing you need to do is get in touch with your core emotion so you have to learn is being scared to death and then learning to play dead. Best way to do this is to have a bear chase you haha! -Goodluck
