My friend purchased a car from ebay motors wire transferred the funds followed and read all of the steps that ebay motors stated. When it came time for him to get the tracking number of the purchase he couldn't get in touch with the person he was purchasing the car from or ebay motors. Sad to say he never recieved the car or got his money back "9,000" dollars!!!!!!

Your friend may have learned a very expensive lesson on buying things through E-Bay.

Tracking number? Did your friend think that the seller was going to ship the car to him? Your friend has to make arrangement to pick up the car from the seller.

That being said, it is never a good idea to even bid on a car on E-Bay unless you meet with the seller and have the checked out with a mechanic first, or at least take if for a test drive.

It is never a good idea to wire money, ever because once it sent, it is gone. You should always go through an escrow agent where you don't give out your bank account information and they are responsible for getting good funds from the buyer and delivering the funds to the seller. You cannot even trust getting a Cashier's Check anymore as it could be fraudulent and if you accept it, you are out the money.

You cannot file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau on an individual, only a business.

Your friend first should try to work through SquareTrade on E-Bay and also request the contact information they have on file, but if the seller has disappeared or doesn't respond, he can file a complaint with the FBI online, but as they have bigger fish to fry, he will need to he will need to get a lawyer and/or a good private detective to track down the seller and sue for possession of the car or money back.

unfortunately there is not much that can be done here, he needs to contact EBay, get a good contract lawyer, and maybe contact the better business bureau, and pray
