I inherited a Story & Clark upright piano. The serial number is 129203. Does anyone now how old this piano is? What is the value? Thank you.

That piano was built in 1932.

I cannot determine its value without seeing it in person -- such issues as tuning stablity, soundboard and pinblock integrity, action regulation, etc. have to be evaluated on-sight.

You may want to hire an independant technician who might be able to evaluate it.

Typically, the Story and Clark piano, like many mass-produced U.S. pianos, had a service life of about 40-50 years, more if they received an extraordinary level of care.

So anything beyond that age, unless it is a fine instrument like Steinway or Mason and Hamlin, is usually not worth too much -- less than $500.00

Sorry, your piano isn't nearly that old. Both the link above (which I'm not familiar with), as well as my personal go-to for serial numbers, printed below, (from the Pierce Piano Atlas) confirm your piano was made in 1963. There is no way to estimate a piano's worth without seeing and hearing it. Most pianos have not been tuned regularly, and that can seriously devalue a piano very very quickly. Most used pianos from the 60's are worth anywhere from $0-1000. Some are little more than piano shaped objects at this point. Lastly, you may find the third link interesting, as it gives a little bit of history on the story & clark name.

During its time, Story and Clark was considered a good piano and held up well.

I would have someone come out and appraise it. Does it need tuning, are the chords too damp, etc.

Best wishes.
