I have this huge tree in my front yard and I would like to plant something around the base of it. The bottom of the tree almost never gets any sun.

Someone suggested to me that yellow foxgloves do well in the shade and that the yellow seems to glow. I tried it and it does! I wish I had shade in my front yard to do this in.
I'm interested in seeing what else you get here. Good luck.

There are a number of tropical plants that bloom regularly with no sun at all, but this will also depend on your climate. If you have a year round humid season like in Florida with no frost, then they would do very well, if the weather gets cold like in a snowy climate then you might have to replace them every year or move them indoors or into a greenhouse..

Hostas love the shade. Sounds like a great spot unless you have a deer issue. They eat hostas.

Elephant ears (not flowering) but really pretty.
Impatients, Geraniums, Begonias, Hydrangea....good choices too.
