Please don't give me a link to a website with a lot of monologues on them, because I've already looked at them all. If you know of a specific monologue please tell me what it's called and what play it's from. I prefer comedic monologues but dramatic is good too. (please no shakespeare) ... also, I'm 17 and the part I'm trying out for is Dolly in You Never Can Tell.
Thanks!

They aren't necessarily monologues that REQUIRE British accents, but look to plays written by British playwrights. Their plays would have opened on West End and then moved to Broadway or Off-Broadway when they came to the States. Usually when they come here, the American actors adopt them to their own accents, but in a lot of cases, it is apparent that they were originally British plays due to slang in the dialogue. Here is a very VERY abridged list of some pretty popular British playwrights: Tom Stoppard, Caryl Churchill, Sarah Kane, Harold Pinter, Peter Schaffer, Patrick Marber, Christopher Hampton, Joe Orton... so many more.

If you need to audition with an accent then just find a monoogue and talk with an accent. Or find something from The Importance of Being Ernest. That's a good play

Check out some of Eliza Doolittle's monologues from My Fair Lady or Pygmalion.... the dialogue in My Fair Lady is a bit punchier than the pygmalion dialogue.
