It takes a while. Six days is too soon to expect your stomach to be smaller. Six months is more like it. Just eat sensibly and breastfeed your baby. That helps drop the pounds.

Wait at least 6-8 weeks before beginning any type of exercise, and be mindful that your body will never be exactly the way it was before.

Keep taking your pain pills. You should at no time allow yourself to be in bad pain. If not pain pills, at least Motrin (800mg) every 6 hours. NO BAD PAIN!

At this point in time, there is nothing you can do about your belly, because you have to heal that incision first. This was MAJOR SURGERY. You need to take it easy and heal.

Are you nursing your baby? That's a major calorie buster. It uses 500 of your calories a day to feed a baby. Great way to lose weight.
Still, you need to eat in a healthy way, but pounds will disappear all by themselves.

Your dr. will tell you when it's time to start exercising, and if you ask, he'll have some brochures on what kind of exercises to do.

I had 2 c-sections, and my belly is still big. But that's because, in my family, everybody has a big belly. Even the most fit of us still have a belly. Oh, well.

I hope you get to feeling better so that sweet baby can have a happy mama to cuddle with and be kissed on.

Congratulations!

hi there if you only had your baby 6days ago with a c-section dont do anything just yet as you have went through major surgery, it is swollen because you have been stitched up some of that bloating is the wind thats trapped in it the only way to describe it is like a balloon so it will deflate eventually but dont lift anything too heavy as this could cause damage to your organs as they will be settling back into the way they were before you were pregnant, the bloating is also because of the blood that is still stored there so you will probably have bleeding for 2-3 weeks i was the same with a section but dont worry it will get back to normal

you are only 6 days out from having a baby. You are still having alot of water retention/swelling as well as muscles that need to move back to prepregnancy position and that takes at a minimum a few weeks to a few months.
Don't stress your c-section scar. if you try to do abdominal workouts at this point all you are going to do is cause more damage to your body which in the long term can cause a bigger issue with body image.

I had a C section also 17 months ago. Some of the extra skin you can't get rid of. I was extremely swollen and was bigger right after it. It'll get smaller, you can workout and eat right. But they cut your skin and muscles so sometimes the only way you can get rid of it is a tummy tuck.
